Apologies if MapInfo vs Map 3D is a common question, I just couldn't find a recent version of this question and MapInfo has changed a fair amount in the last few years. Below I have listed the features I use most often in MapInfo and they are features that are a must in my GIS workflow. I was wondering if I could get the forum's opinion on whether Map 3D could replace MapInfo in my GIS workflow. I will download the student version soon when I get a chance (I am currently busy learning to use Civil 3D). I am very familiar with AutoCAD but I know very little about Map 3D. I have decided to take this break in my GIS work to look into GIS software and possible alternatives to MapInfo. ![]() I have a love/hate relationship with MapInfo, however things have got a lot better with the latest 15.2 release (finally 64 bit without the old windows xp style interface). ![]() I have recently completed a large 5 month GIS project in Mapinfo 15/15.2. My name is Mike, I am a senior AutoCAD and GIS technician.
